"My experience with Matt’s 4 day course exceeded my expectations. It’s obvious the passion Matt has for thatch and for the future of thatch. I left with slightly sore arms feeling excited, inspired and full of joy. His way of teaching was very effective to me in such a small amount of time. He is extremely patient and calm and tells you like it is. I feel that I learned way more than I expected to. It was an entire experience, with really tasty lunch and dinners, mostly homegrown/baked or locally sourced, accompanied by great chats and laughs. Learning about some history of the area and their community was inspiring as well. I highly recommend anybody that even has a slight interest or wonder in thatch to take the course, there’s a lot of knowledge and fun to be had."
I would just like to thank the both of you for a really enjoyable few days that I spent on the thatching course. Matt is an incredible Thatcher who is passionate about his craft and the attention to detail is of the highest standard. I feel honored that I got the opportunity to learn about thatching as no course has existed and trust me, because I’ve been looking for years. The course wasn’t rushed and I didn’t feel intimidated as Matt took his time and everything was planned. Thank you as well Jenny for your hospitality and catering for my food requirements.
